What is the ASSET MANAGEMENT PROGRAM?

The Asset Management program is a cooperative effort between Local Road Commissions, Regional Planning Commissions and the State Department of Transportation. "This emerging concept in the transportation industry is predicated on the principles of stewardship of public resources, accountability to users of the system, and continuous improvement. It is based on managing our infrastructure for results by focusing on performance. As steward's of the public's highways and bridges we can no longer be content to simply account for assets. Rather, we must aggressively ensure the proper use and performance of those assets."
